Emily’s practice focuses on traditional labor and employee benefits law, representing labor unions and multiemployer benefit funds. She is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and currently serves on the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law’s Section Council. She is also an active member and former co-chair of the Section’s Committee on Practice and Procedure Under the National Labor Relations Act. Emily Perez is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and St. Louis University School of Law.

Bevis handles a variety of cases but focuses on civil rights matters. He routinely challenges the government efforts to limit and control the rights of the people to speak their minds, to own and use property as they see fit, and to live their lives in privacy. He was lead counsel in successful efforts to defeat red light cameras in Missouri as well as assuring beggars their free speech rights to seek alms on public property. He is currently challenging the City of St. Louis’s efforts to retain its 1% earnings tax on City workers on who teleworked from their homes outside the City during the recent pandemic. Bevis Schock is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Virginia Law School.

Alan was Edward Jones’s first public finance investment banker and as a General Partner led the Investment Banking Department’s underwriting of new debt issues for governments, hospitals, colleges and universities, and other tax-exempt entities. He was a founding staff member of the St. Louis Regional Commerce and Growth Assn., establishing its Business Expansion and Retention Department and later was the first Executive Director of the St. Louis County Industrial Development Authority (IDA). Alan is a published author and a former Commissioner of the St. Louis Convention Center. Alan Wright holds a B.S in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Eric practices in the field of commercial litigation, and particularly relating to insolvency, turnarounds, receiverships, corporate reorganization, and workouts. He serves on a number of not-for-profit boards of directors. Eric Peterson holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and is a graduate of Boston University Law School.

Joseph S. von Kaenel is a business lawyer and was previously a long-time partner at a major St. Louis law firm. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. Missouri-Kansas Super Lawyers has recognized von Kaenel in the area of securities regulation. He has significant experience advising and serving on not-for-profit boards. Joe is a graduate of Yale University and Vanderbilt University School of Law.
